A member of the Society of American Fight Directors, Adam Alexander is certified in a variety of weapon styles, and finds himself most comfortable in Single Sword, Rapier and Dagger, and Knife. Very secure in unarmed combat as well, Adam's background in gymnastics and wrestling complements his natural ability for falls and grappling techniques.

Adam has been involved with works, both new and old, ranging from regional Shakespeare productions to local performances such as Jaded Assassin, a new action play with the SoHo Think Tank. Last spring, he was seen in the Vital Signs new works festival at the Vital Theatre in New York City, in That's All Mime, written by Qui Nguyen, founder of the Vampire Cowboys. While pursuing his Master's degree at the Manhattan school of Music, Adam both choreographed and performed the role of Puck in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. This performance received outstanding reviews from the New York Times, the American Record Guide, and other publications. Read reviews now.

As a singer, Adam has a particular interest in the most violent performance medium: opera, and most recently choreographed as well as performed the role of Mercutio in Opera Brooklyn’s production of Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet. While a member of the apprentice program at Des Moines Metro Opera(DMMO), Adam also choreographed fights for the scenes programs, as well as the mainstage production of Rigoletto. He has served as a teaching assistant the last two years for Rod Kinter at New York City Opera and at the Manhattan School of Music, as well as Joe Travers with Swordplay. Most recently, Adam joined the stage combat department at the American Music and Dramatic Academy, and led workshops at the Ohio State University.

Comfortable with Shakespeare or Puccini, Adam looks forward to making Opera a more physical experience, both as a performer and choreographer.
